Base44 Superagents: Your AI Agent That Actually Ships Work (Not Just Chats)
Most "AI agents" are not agents. They are chatbots with a fancy name. You ask them a question, they answer, and then they wait for the next question. They cannot do anything outside the chat window.
Base44's Superagent is different. It is an AI agent that lives in your workspace, has access to your tools, can run skills, communicate across channels, and actually complete tasks without you micro-managing every step.
In September 2026, Base44 rolled out a set of updates that make Superagents genuinely useful for builders and solopreneurs. Here is what is new and why it matters.
What Superagents Can Do
Use Your Installed Skills Automatically
As of September 7, 2026, Superagents draw on Base44's built-in skills and any skills you have installed. When you give it a task, it picks the right skill and gets to work instead of pausing to suggest you install something.
This sounds small, but it is a big deal for workflow. Before this update, the agent would hit a task it could not do and stop to tell you to install a skill. Now it just does it. You browse and add skills yourself in the Skills tab under Plugins, and the agent uses them when needed.
For a builder, this means less hand-holding. You set up the tools once, and the agent uses them whenever the task calls for it.
Fetch Phone Call Transcripts
Also on September 7: you can ask your Superagent for a recorded call's transcript and it fetches the text for you. Recent calls come back with their call IDs, and a long transcript arrives in pages so it does not overwhelm the context.
If you are running a business where you take sales calls, support calls, or client calls, this is significant. You do not need a separate transcription service. You ask your agent for the transcript, it gets it, and you can ask follow-up questions about what was said.
Adding a trusted caller now also validates that the number is a valid international phone number, which is a small but important detail for reliability.
React on WhatsApp While Working
On September 6, 2026, Base44 added a subtle but smart UX feature: when you send your Superagent a direct message on WhatsApp and the answer takes more than a few seconds, it reacts to your message with an emoji so you know it is working on it. If the reply comes quickly, no emoji.
This is a small thing, but it solves a real problem. When you message an AI agent and it takes 30 seconds to respond, you do not know if it is thinking or if it broke. The emoji reaction tells you it is processing. It applies to direct messages, not group chats.
One Model Lineup for Everything
Also on September 6: InvokeLLM, in-app agents, and image and text generation now share a single model lineup. The available models are:
- Gemini 3.8 Flash
- GPT 5.6 Luna, Terra, and Sol
- Claude Sonnet 5 and Opus 5
- Fable 5.1
- GPT 6 Astra
- GLM 5.2
Every model is available on every plan, with credits as the cost control. An app that calls a retired model name keeps working, so you do not need to update your code when models change.
How To Set Up Your Superagent
-
Install the skills you need. Go to the Skills tab under Plugins and browse the available skills. Install the ones relevant to your workflow. The Superagent will use them automatically.
-
Connect your channels. Superagents can communicate through WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, and more. Connect the channels you use so your agent can reach you wherever you are.
-
Give it tasks in plain language. You do not need to write code or configure complex rules. Tell it what you want done, and it figures out which tools and skills to use.
-
Let it handle the routine work. Phone call transcripts, data lookups, file operations, scheduled reminders. If a skill exists for it, the Superagent can do it.
Why This Matters for Builders
If you are building an app or running a business on Base44, the Superagent is essentially a free team member that never sleeps. It can:
- Monitor your app and alert you to issues
- Handle customer follow-ups across channels
- Fetch and summarize calls
- Run skills on a schedule
- Send you notifications when things happen
The September updates make it more autonomous (skills are used automatically), more communicative (WhatsApp reactions, call transcripts), and more flexible (unified model lineup). That combination turns it from a novelty into a practical tool that saves real time.
The Competitive Edge
Here is what makes Base44's Superagent different from other AI agents on the market: it is built into the same platform where you build your apps. Your agent has direct access to your app's database, backend functions, entities, and file storage. It is not an external integration that breaks when you change your app. It is part of the system.
For solopreneurs, that means you can build an app, set up an agent to help run it, and have the whole thing working in a single platform. No stitching together five different tools. No API keys to manage. No integration to maintain.
Set up your Superagent on Base44 and start delegating the busywork.
