Build a web app that generates and explains spreadsheet formulas and automations. Numbered features: 1. Formula generator: user describes what they want in plain English, the app returns the correct formula for Excel or Google Sheets. 2. Formula explainer: paste any existing formula and get a step-by-step plain English breakdown. 3. Formula fixer: paste a formula that returns an error or wrong result and get a corrected version with an explanation of what was wrong. 4. Platform toggle: outputs respect Excel versus Google Sheets syntax differences. 5. Example data preview: show a small sample table so users can see how the formula behaves on realistic data. 6. Copy button and download-as-CSV for the sample. 7. Saved formula library per user with tags. 8. Common formula packs: date math, lookups, conditionals, text cleanup, and pivot-ready aggregations. Use an AI app builder; the logic is mostly prompt engineering plus a clean formula display UI.
FAQ
Can AI build AI Spreadsheet and Excel Formula Assistant?
Formula generation is one of the best-solved AI problems and general AI models are already strong at it. A wrapper with a formula explainer, fixer, and library is very buildable by a beginner. The limitation is very large or unusual spreadsheet operations, where AI still makes occasional syntax errors, so include a fixer flow and tell users to test in a copy of their sheet.
